Grow your child’s love for science!

In Science to Grow On™, children make discoveries by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Explora educators engage children and their adults in age-appropriate activities that incorporate science, art, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.

Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is encouraged, but not required.

Explora members* $160 per child per semester
Non-members $180 per child per semester

Explora’s Camps & Programs

Explora educators develop activities with children’s developmental levels in mind. Your children will have the opportunity to learn from, and work with older and younger peers and make new friends.

Registration/Information

You can register online
Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.
Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.
Full fees will be refunded if Explora cancels a program

Roller Coaster Bonanza

Saturday, January 27

Put your engineering skills to work as you use triangles to design a roller coaster for marbles. Can you create a loop-de-loop?

Homey Habitats

Saturday, February 10

What can you discover about animals, their homes, and what they eat? Learn what they need from their environments, and build your own habitat to take home.

What's the Matter?

Saturday, February 24

Experiment with solids, liquids, and gasses as you learn about the different states of matter. Create a non-Newtonian fluid to play with!

Go, Car Go!

Saturday, March 9

Experiment with different materials, shapes, and sizes to construct a car. See how many different ways you can make it go: use rubber bands, balloons, and your own force to provide power.

Chemistry is pHun

Saturday, March 23

Explora acids, bases, and chemical reactions. See pH indicators change color right before your eyes!

Innovative Engineering

Saturday, April 6

Investigate the strength and height of various constructions. Build structures and bridge the gap between materials and design.

Viscosity City

Saturday, April 20

Submerge yourself in the gooey world of viscous liquids and semi-solids as you experiment with density, fluidity, resistance, and friction.

Make Your Own Paper

Saturday, May 4

What is paper? What do you notice when you look at it up close? Let’s repurpose! Use recycled paper scraps to make your own “new” paper!
