Grow your child’s love for science!

In Science to Grow On™, children make discoveries by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Explora educators engage children and their adults in age-appropriate activities that incorporate science, art, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.

Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is encouraged, but not required.

Non-members $180 per child per semester

Explora’s Camps & Programs

Explora educators develop activities with children’s developmental levels in mind. Your children will have the opportunity to learn from, and work with older and younger peers and make new friends.

Registration/Information

You can register online
Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.
Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.
Full fees will be refunded if Explora cancels a program

Chemistry of Art

Saturday, August 26

Explore the connection between art and science! Manipulate and experiment with existing art materials, while designing your own in this exploration of chemistry and art making. What masterpiece can you create?

In Balance: Mobiles

Saturday, September 9

Explore the concepts of balance, movement, and design! Compare and contrast symmetry and asymmetry in arrangement and weight, exploring cause and effect by trying to balance yourself and other objects!

Leaves Everywhere

Saturday, September 23

Leaves give us oxygen, shelter, and shade. They can even give us food! Explore all the beautiful and wonderful things leaves have to offer!

Be a Mad Hatter

Saturday, October 7

Many people wear hats, but have you ever thought about why? Test fabrics to determine which are the most water-repellent. Explore how a hat’s design relates to function, and make your own original hat to wear home!

Amazing Light

Saturday, October 21

How are shadows made? Use light boxes to explore the basic properties of white and colored light, investigating the properties of lenses.

You Won't Believe Your Eyes

Saturday, November 4

Discover how straight lines can bend and colors can be created as you play with toys and use art, investigating how optical illusions are made in your brain.

Bubble Solutions

Saturday, November 18

Use a variety of materials and solutions to experiment with bubble blowing. Make your own colorful bubble prints to take home!

Drawing Nature

Saturday, December 2

Become a scientific illustrator using grids, symmetry, and more to draw your favorite animals and plants. Investigate how science and art work together using magnifying glasses to examine insects and plants for illustrations.
